Informing populations about the health risks posed by COVID-19 as well as measures they can take to protect themselves, is key to mitigating spread and reducing the likelihood that people will become infected. The provision of accurate, timely and frequent information in a language that people understand, via reliable channels, enables populations to make decisions and adopt positive behaviors to protect themselves and their loved ones from diseases such as COVID-19. Information is the most important resource to enable a population to make informed decisions on how to take care of their health, and to prevent rumors and misinformation. Global Survey on Youth and COVID-19

To bring youth voices to the forefront of action and policy responses, the Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth (DJY) and its partners including the International Labour Organization, the UN Major Group for Children and Youth, AIESEC, the European Youth Forum, the EU Emergency Trust Fund for Africa and the United Nations Human Rights Office are conducting a survey on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on youth rights, with a focus on employment and education.

The survey will focus on four main areas:

  1. the crisis’ effects on youth’s employment and learning situation and aspirations
  2. effects on psychological well-being and mental health
  3. young people’s engagement in social activism and volunteerism
  4. their opinions on policy responses taken so far and expectations on the role of the authorities, including their own proposals to protect the labour market prospects of young people during and after the crisis.

Take the survey now and let your voices be heard by decision-makers across the globe, including a community of youth organizations and United Nations entities. The survey ends on 21 May 2020.
